The Microstar is built on a substantial granite base for stability. The moving bridge construction provides the greatest flexibility for part access, accuracy and structural integrity at a reasonable price. The design emphasizes powerful bearing ratios together with Helmel’s tradition of precision mechanical bearing movement on hardened and ground steel ways. PH20 is another innovative measurement product from Renishaw that transforms coordinate measuring machine (CMM) performance. For the first time, 5-axis technology developed for the multi-award winning REVO® measurement system is available for touch-trigger applications on all sizes of CMMs.
PH20’s unique ‘head touches’ allow measurement points to be taken by moving only the head rather than the CMM structure. Using only the rapid rotary motion of the head, points can be taken faster, and with improved accuracy and repeatability. Furthermore, 5-axis motion eliminates time spent indexing the head. Together these speed increases typically result in a threefold improvement in throughput over conventional systems.
Unlike conventional touch-trigger measurement methods which rely on speeding up the motion of the CMM's 3 axes to measure quickly, PH20 utilises the head motion technology developed for the multi-award winning REVO system to minimise the dynamic errors of the CMM at higher measurement speeds.
